Specification

The design of the MENGIN cutter/chopper pump ensures that fibrous waste and debris in suspension are chopped into pumpable segments allowing blockage free flow through the pump.

The unique solids cutting mechanism makes the MENGIN cutter/chopper pump suitable for many difficult, heavy duty, special purpose pumping applications and guarantees substantial reduction in maintenance time and costs.

The cutter mechanism of MENGIN pumps is a channelled impeller with blades extended into a sharp edged cutting cone which rotates against a fixed, adjustable knife with a hardened steel blade.

Electrical Details are as follows:

• 3 phase motors
• 10m length of cable is standard
• Protection class IP68
• Insulation class F
• Direct on Line or Star Delta Starting
• Winding - 400V
• Frequency - 50Hz
• Outside of cable sealed by compressed grommet in cable entry gland
• Pumps are delivered with free end of cable fitted in a waterproof sleeve
• Dry well moors are efficiently cooled by the pumped liquid contained within a jacket, circulating around the motor
• Motors with other voltages and frequencies available on request.

For safety monitoring, Klixon type temperature sensors are built into the motor winding and thermistors are available upon request.

Optional items include the following:

• Impeller strengthening with tungsten carbide
• Duckfoot pedestal and bend.
• Guide rail, 50mm square, heavy wall thickness in galvanised steel or stainless steel
• Lifting chain in galvanised steel or stainless steel
• Universal adaptor which guarantees compatibility with all existing guide rail assemblies, pedestals and piping
• All pumps are available with explosion proof motors
• Sensor which detects moisture ingress into the motor housing
• Sensor which constantly monitors the condition of the lower mechanical seal via a moisture probe
